ABOUT US
We received our Onkwehonwe Full-Spectrum Doula Certificates in October 2017 and we have been supporting women since. A'no:wara Owira Doulas functions as an association of doulas in Akwesasne. We can help match you to a doula if you contact us via email or social media. You can also check out our doula profiles and choose to contact someone directly as well. Our goal as Full Spectrum Doulas is to support women throughout the lifecycle, menstruation to menopause. We currently specialize in pregnancy and postpartum. As well as providing lactation support.
WHAT IS A DOULA?
A non medical support person who provides emotional and physical support for menstruation, pregnancy, abortion, pregnancy loss or stillbirth, labour, postpartum and beyond. A doula will establish a relationship with you and help you find evidence-based information and direct you to community resources.
We can help you articulate your birth plan and help you advocate for yourself. We also provide emotional and breastfeeding support during the postpartum period.

OUR WORK
We're passionate about supporting women!
Our goal is to provide women with a sense of comfort, control and confidence. From menstruation support to menopause support- we believe that knowing your options and educating yourself in a way that serves you can leave you feeling empowered.
We provide continuous physical support during labour that can include; the use of a rebozo, tens machine, soothing touch, and assistance with movement and positions.

We provide in home support during the postpartum. This can include light cleaning (laundry, dishes, meal prep), nonjudgmental support for istas and their families and breastfeeding support.

We provide support through abortions, pregnancy loss and infertility. This includes in home support in addition to emotional, physical, and informational support.
We provide first moon support to young women, as well as support to women interested in understanding their cycles. We provide informational support during this time, allowing women to explore their options when it comes to menstrual products.
